Castles Surveyors can advise residential tenants on the potential cost of extending their lease. This is a right under the Commonhold and Leasehold Reform Act 2002 and large numbers of leases throughout the country (and particularly in London) are beginning to get short.

We will inspect and value the property (usually a flat) and using established and accepted methods will calculate the likely premium required. We will then negotiate with the landlord and submit evidence to the Leasehold Valuation Tribunal if necessary.

Castles can also act on behalf of the landlord, advising on the price he should ask for granting a lease extension and negotiating on his behalf.

Fees: £500 to £1,500 (plus £150 per hour for Tribunal work)
