Q. What types of survey does Castles Surveyors
undertake?
A. We carry out full Building Surveys and the
less detailed Home Buyers Reports. If required we will also do pre-sale
surveys for vendors.
Q. What is the difference between a Building
Survey and a Home Buyer's Report?
A. A Building Survey is a thorough inspection
of the property followed by a detailed report. A Home Buyer's Report
is an ‘economy package’, i.e. a comprehensive but less
thorough inspection and a briefer ‘pro forma’ report.
Q. Are your surveyors members of the Royal
Institution of Chartered Surveyors?
A. Yes, all of our surveyors are qualified and
are either FRICS or MRICS
Q. How long will I have to wait for my
survey report?
A. For mortgage valuations carried out for a bank
or building survey we will endeavour to send the completed report
within 3 working days. If you have requested a Homebuyer Report
or Building Survey the report will be sent to you within 5 working
days.
Q. If I have any questions after reading
my survey report will it be possible to speak with the surveyor?
A. Our surveyor will be pleased to discuss any
area of the report which you may be unsure of.
Q. Do you have a Complaints Procedure
should I be dissatisfied?
A. Castles Surveyors has a complaints procedure
which is compliant with the RICS Standard. Should you have reason
to complain you would need to bring the matter to our attention
so that we can discuss it with you.
Q. Are the surveyors insured?
A. All Castles surveyors are covered by the firms
professional indemnity insurance, as required by the RICS.
